Get out the map

Get out the map

When I finished grad school, I knew that I wanted to travel before starting a full time job. After convincing my parents that it was the right thing for me to do (they wanted me to start my career right away; I made a PowerPoint presentation to convince them otherwise), off to Europe I went.

Though portions of my trip were solo, I did meet up with a friend in Berlin. It turned out to be one of my favourite cities that I’ve ever visited, and one I hope to return to.

I loved this map of Berlin by French designer Armelle Caron the moment I saw it. The left shows the true layout, and the right a linear alignment of the city.

I’d love to get my hands on this collection…

All I need to do now is figure out which cities I’m going to feature…

Mathematics

Graffiti or art? Taken in Riga, Latvia when I was exploring my father’s hometown, this was one of the first times I really stopped to think about this. Who painted this confusing equation on the wall? What does it mean to them?
